Inliners say a 216 but I beleive they are incorrect. At one time I saw it listed in a manual as a 235. It is on my 235. Also does anyone know of another head that can be used on my 51, 235? Thx.

According to the catalog your block casting 3692703 is for 1950-52 Truck.
Did 50-52 235 trucks have solids?
Is truck block casting 3692703 for solid or hydraulic lifters?
I know you have hydraulic lifters, could this have anything to do with breaking rockers?
1950-52 Truck 235
Block 3692703, crank 3835311, head 3835499
Block 3692713, crank 3835501, head 3835909

But, all my research has found 3692703 to be a block for a 50-51, 235 passenger(car) powerglide engine. At least according to Inerliners. The block is drilled for hyd.lifters and that what it always had. But Inerliners also says 3835499 head is for a 216 engine. The 50-52, 235 did come with solid lifters. What kind of side cover do you have on your engine? The 235 side cover from 1950 and newer did not go over the spark plugs. All 216 side covers did go over the spark plugs.

The side cover is the standard 1/2 cover that only covers the pushrod/lifter compartment. It does not go all the way up to the valve cover like the 216 does. I need to clarify prvious post. The 50-52 car and truck 235 engine did come with solid lifters, if it had a manual tranny. I wish I could connect my broken rocker arms to an improper head.
