Got the bed striped off my 63 C10, is POR-15 the best sealer and rust stopper? Does a wire brush wheel knocking of the rust, then covering, is that enough ? Suggestions?

I like the POR15 but you do have to prep it pretty good....which goes for about any of it.
you can pressure wash, wire brush, wash and pour some metal prep on it to insure a decent job. But I can tell you where there is grease it will not stick!
Depending on what you want out of it helps to decide how far to go. Since the "back" of the chassis is usually not so greasey cleaning good and por15 should hold you. The only sure way to get rid of Rust is to sand blast it then coat if with POR.

Appreciate it, i was talking to a guy and he said a wire wheel brush and some POR-15 would work, this is my 1st project i heard POR is the real deal, but i think maybe i should look into some sandblastin' equip. and do it right while i have the bed off

...do a search on sandblasting but have a big pepsi. It'll take a while to read it all!!
Unless you love to do it all yourself, and you plan to use the equip. again I'd recommend paying someone to do it. From my personal experience of buying a pressure blaster, from Tractor Supply, and the sand ect. I will NEVER do anything again that will not go in my blasting cabinet. If you do not have the means to keep the air lines DRY then you'll spend most of your time getting "clots" out of the line than you do blasting....and if you have a big enough air compressor to keep up. Take it so someone that has the major equipment and can get the job done. In the long run you will be much much better off. Lots of others here feel the same way. Think about it!! Unless your a glutton for pain smile

Oh, the POR15 is some nasty stuff so wear some type mask, use it in a ventilated area, wear the worst clothes, rubber gloves and don't pour out but small amounts at one time. It'll skim on you pretty fast. A quart should coat most complete chassis's twice.
Keep it air tight in the can.
For more hours of reading enjoyment do a search for POR15, and get a refill on the big Pepsi.

POR 15 is a great product. I used it on my frame & inner front end sheet metal and it looked great. I sanded the rust down to metal with a DA sander as best as I could and brushed the POR 15 on. It flows out great & looked like it was sprayed on. You can go to my Photobucket link & see the results. Just be careful & don't breath the fumes. Go to a paint supply store & get a disposable organic vapor mask for about $20.

wow , truck looks good and your right it does looked sprayed on, i was ready on here and it says POR 15 goes a long way, spread wise and also read to drill a whole in to of can ( ithink 1/4) to prevent it from drying out ? also i been hearing rust-E or XO- rust does the same job as Por-15? For a 47 year old truck it really not bad mostly light surface rust, As you can probably tell i new at this, (1st time) and dont have that much experience (only 21) but i now have an obsession for making this truck my own, so any advice, knowledge and expertises, tools of the trade would be greatly appreciated

I never drilled a hole in the can, but I did put saran wrap on the top before closing the lid on it. If you don't the lid will seal shut & you can't take it off again.
