I bought a set of reproduction Artillary wheels.They are 15x6 and made by wheel smith.I plan on using 1941-1946 hub caps,I like the look of them.Here are some pictures of them.

those art's slots have that squarish look. My friend picked up a set of repro's that have the slots looking more oval (og) but a guy could still tell they are not original. They are by wheel vintiques http://wheelvintiques.myshopify.com/products/artillery

It seems like all the repro's just dont look like the originals. For all the work and time they put into making them,(plus what theyre charging for them) they shoulda come out looking like an artillery wheel. Plus,,,the hubcap situation.
Theres still plenty of originals around,--Craigslist,E-Bay,,Etc..

The reproduction hubcaps are made to fit these wheels.I know the originals can be found,but I would have spent more money getting them ready for the finish.They sure don't look exact as the oem,but I like them .We trial fitted the repro stainless hub caps and they fit great.I priced used oem artillery wheels and they were about 135.00 each needing blasted and finished.This was best for me,just wanted to share some pictures of them.

If they look good, and you like them, use them (I know that I do not have to tell you this).

Since there were no original artillery wheels in 1951, why fret over whether or not they look like any particular style of non-stock wheel?

Look great to me. Plus you have the peice of mind knowing they are new and are should not be bent or rusty.

I spent the last three days prepping my wheels for paint.I didn't realize the amount of time it takes to get wheels ready for paint.Its been a while since Ive painted anything.The color is ocean green,I love it.Just wanted to share the pictures with the bolt.

Do the ogs or repops fit over the disk brake conversions?

Tim, nice job pal. They look sweet and even sweeter when you get them on the burb.

If you want me measure parts of the wheel,I will.Just let me know what measurements you need.

Can some one tell me of the ogs will fit over the cpp disc brake kit id prefer og arts over the repops since i can get some local and about half price of the repops i have no clue what need to be measured onthe wheel or how to tell oter than having someone out there who has tried it or done it

Your wheels look great. I agree with Tim, who cares whether they are like OEM or not, since they were not orignal equipment. And Alvin is on the money, in that they will definitly look better on the truck where they belong.

I'm new to the forum and ran across your photos. The '51 PU is beautiful. I like that color.

What color are you going with on the Suburban. I know that's a ways off, but I'm sure the pair of '51s will be something to see.

I would also like to know about the fitment of the Kelsey Hayes artillery wheels on a disc brake conversion. I am in the gathering parts stage of the build on my 53' Suburban and have a set of 16 x 4.5 artillery wheels. I would like to add disc brakes on the front if the wheels would work with the conversion. If anybody has experience with this application please let me know. Thank you.
