No, but that's one I'm considering for my 55 2nd series. YOu don't by chance have a width on it do you?

yes it is 55 1/4 backing plate to backing plate and has 2.73 gears

I used a 93 caprice rear end under my 55 cameo. 3.08 posi running a 261 with TBI and T5 transmisson worked great.

I learned to never measure from backing plate to backing plate. Measure from wheel mounting surface instead. Some rearends have wider brake drums. In your example of a 79 caprice you might find a 2" difference in widths depending on original equipment. Some higher end cars got the bigger brakes. Something to watch for.

I know the rearend from an 84 Caprice fits, my 52 has the complete frame from the 84 Caprice under it with frame mods. Worked really well.
