I assume these are for mirrors, I would think they would have longer arms to extend past the width of the flatbed/etc. I have never seen these so I don't know what they look like, where can I find them?
Thanks, | | | | Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 65 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 65 | They were a long tube about 30"with a 4" or 5" round mirror on the end. As I recall, the left side was included and the right side was a dealer installed option. I don't remember many trucks that had a right hand mirror.
I may be off slightly on the dimensions, but I learned to drive big farm trucks in and out of my Dad's dealership and very few had right hand mirrors. In the 50's, west coast style mirrors became available and we couldn't figure out how we did without them. They were aftermarket items.

I have a '47 AD. It has a mount on each side of the cowl and 3 bolts hold on stalks that look loke antennae, with about a 5" round mirror on the end, waiting to get smashed off. The stalks are two piece, about 1" dia, and one fits into the other and telescopes. Its clamped by a bolt at the middle. I'm restoring mine so I'll keep them, but really they are a period pice and I'd happily swap them for something better. i predict they will be useless.
