I have mounts on either side of the cowl. I assume these are for mirrors, I would think they would have longer arms to extend past the width of the flatbed/etc.
I have never seen these so I don't know what they look like, where can I find them?

Thanks,

They were a long tube about 30"with a 4" or 5" round mirror on the end. As I recall, the left side was included and the right side was a dealer installed option. I don't remember many trucks that had a right hand mirror.

I may be off slightly on the dimensions, but I learned to drive big farm trucks in and out of my Dad's dealership and very few had right hand mirrors. In the 50's, west coast style mirrors became available and we couldn't figure out how we did without them. They were aftermarket items.

go to any large car store and they can get them. page 34 from here http://www.berubes.com/. items 1250,60,70 any of these will do the job. you just have to figure out what length you will need. i put them on my 40 with the 4" round mirrors and the 5x7 mirrors for the firetruck. i also added blind spot mirrors on both also for extra viewing pleasure..

What is your truck?
I have a '47 AD. It has a mount on each side of the cowl and 3 bolts hold on stalks that look loke antennae, with about a 5" round mirror on the end, waiting to get smashed off. The stalks are two piece, about 1" dia, and one fits into the other and telescopes. Its clamped by a bolt at the middle.
I'm restoring mine so I'll keep them, but really they are a period pice and I'd happily swap them for something better. i predict they will be useless.

Roads were only 2 lanes in the days these vehicles were produced and there was no need to see what was going on in the ditch on the right side.

Ok here are the pictures and details on the mirror brackets. I have the documents as pdf's if you send me a PM with your e-mail I will send them to you. I did the mirror and the original glovebox light both NOS/Original box items. One thing I noticed when reading the directions is parts are the same for LH application as the directions state: "For LH installation remove existing mirror bracket and use existing holes in cowl."
