Please provide some more information as to what your plans are for the truck. How it is going to be used, what highway speeds expected, towing, hauling, distances? | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | There is no concern with the new driveshaft being too long with any transmission you choose in the 3100 model. Of more importance will be the rear mounting of the tranny. There have been hundreds or more of these conversions done. Tons of info available. | | | | Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 33 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Jul 2007 Posts: 33 | Sorry forgot to mention I have already converted to an open drive line with saginaw 4 speed. Im aware the driveshaft may need resized..didnt know if one trans may fit better with aftermarket trans crossmember.
