I have seen some threads discuss how difficult or impossible it is to find replacement rims for the 3600. One forum suggested the 8 Lug F truck 250 stock wheels would fit. Does anyone know if these rims will fit and clear the steering links? I have searched for replacements but unable to find the backspace on suggested replacement rims.

They do not clear the originals. I used 1990-91 Suburban 3/4-ton wheels on my truck(which also do not clear) and tried them to see. I ended up modifying my steering arms and going to a custom tie-rod but I wanted to run tubeless and radials so the modifications were not and issue. I did get them to accept wheel hub cap clips and original caps and they look very good now to me.

I switched over to Dexstar trailer rims. They work fine on the rear but when turned to the extreme on the front they rubbed on the tie rod ends. I swapped over to the 1 ton tie rod/tie rod end setup and gained more than enough clearance. Auto Zone can still order new (made in USA) ends and NOS tie rods are plentiful.

I did some measurements with flat boards spanning my aftermarket 16 in. one-piece rim. I come up with an inside bead width of 6 in. The inside mounting surface is setback 3 3/4 in. from the outside of the bead. These rims work with 235-85R16 tires (Michelin highway treads). One of the tire shops in town said they could order them so they should be available everywhere.
