Idles great... when i step on the pedal... sounds great... the problem is when i back off the pedal... Does anyone have any ideas?
I was thinking maybe a vacuum leak but that would be on acceleration i thought...
Any help?

Did you try to set the timing to maximum vacuum at idle?
Can you get your idle down to 500 rpm?

What is maximum vacuum idle?
im sure i can get it down to 500... Im guessing thats where it should be?

Matt,
Maximum vacuum at idle is the maximum vacuum reading you get as you slowly rotate the distributor in both directions.
You first set the idle speed. The idle speed might increase as a result of the above operation. So, you may want to reset the idle speed and repeat the operation in the first paragraph, above.
Attach the vacuum gauge to the wiper-motor vacuum-port on the intake manifold.
