There's an extensive adjustment procedure in the 55.2 shop manual that you can link to in Tech Tips, but it sounds like maybe your system is operating normally. The main thing is - does your battery seem to be fully charged and are your lights nice and bright and not flickering?

Like Waldo say's it probably is normal. When the bat is fully charged there is no curent flow & the gauge stay's in the middle. If you turn on the lights It will go to discharge at idle & if you accelerate it will go back to charge & back to the center. A good test is to get a volt meter & put it across the bat. term. on the reg. & ground. Acel. the engine & it should read between 13.8 & 14.5 volts.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
