Also I switched to a 1 wire alternator and now have no lights. Where to hook up the main power for the lights? This truck was lightly vandalized before I got it. It is chassis cab and had a huge flatbed on it. I put a regular one on. It has a 283 2bbl, SM420 tailshaft brake, and 5.14 in the back, dually. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 942 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 942 | It's been a while, but there is a button somewhere on the switch itself. Pull the knob all the way out, as like you are putting the headlights on, then press the button from under the dash, then pull the knob assembly out.

This truck was bought new for a Tree service, and was sold in 1979 to a landscape company, then sold to a machinst, and then to me. This truck has 48K original miles. All reciepts of parts ('64-'05) were in the glovebox since I got it. Apparently someone was planning on pulling the engine at the machinist's. All wiring was unplugged or cut.
Does anyone know how to adjust the tailshaft Parking brake on these? I also got a PTO setup on this. When I get it installed, is the box on the trans all I need? To operate the PTO you engage the clutch, engage the PTO, release the clutch. The PTO will be turning/operating. The PTO will work in any gear but I generally use it in neutral or at low speed.
