For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 79 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 79 | I had a bad fuel pump on my 235(busted inside or something).Bought a replacement from parts store(Webber brand)but it wont pull the gas from the tank to the carb.I have a new chassis mounted tank, fuel lines, and inline filter going into the carb. When you try and drive the truck you have to keep the choke about half for it to run without stalling. An old gent told me the lobe on the cam could be worn to the point it wont give full travel on the pump lever. Any ideas?

Have you checked for vacuum leaks at your carburetor and intake manifold?

As far as I know I don't have any vacuum leaks.I do have an exhaust leak at the manifold(bad donut).I have not done a pressure test but it will not keep the see through filter full. Only about one third full.If you pull the line from the carb while the truck is running(crazy I know but I am desperate)there is not much pressure.I am going to try a few other things.May need to rebuild the carb.It sat dry for many years. As always thanks for ideas guys.
