Hey guys, just thought I'd share with you that I ended up getting tired of thinking about my rotted out 61 Apache, so I bought another one that's in very solid shape. It's a 61 also...but it's a real stovebolt unlike the other one, this one has the 235 in it, which runs pretty good. I'm unfamiliar with Chevy sixes, are they decently reliable? I understand that this being a Chevy site and all, you guys will all be pretty biased:D
Gonna have it shipped home to Calgary from Washington soon I hope. Pictures will follow.

A stovebolt is as reliable as it gets as far as I'm concerned, so reliable in fact Toyota copied it for thier Land Cruisers in the 60's I am told, and looking under the hood of a few it sure looks like one to me, so which Washington did you get it from Washington sate or Washington D.C.? and if it was in my back yard, YEA another saved!

It was in Washington state. It sounds healthier than my 283...and it's really clean too. I'll probably miss the power of the V8 though, but oh well:)

I remember your previous posts. What did you do with the first 61? Sell, or keep for bits and pieces.

Hambone, I still have the first one (blue one). I drive it still, it`s still running good. It`s for sale, but I`m realizing that something like this is a pain in the butt to sell. Soon I`ll have no room for it, so it`s looking like I`m gonna have to get rid of it for dirt cheap, which kinda sucks

I hear ya. Cheers and good luck. I saw the for sale post.
I bought my truck with "no rust". Of course I did not believe that. I just did not fully understand. 2 cab corners, both floors, both door pillars, all recently done. New fenders needed. No rust? The good news is that I am getting it closer to "no rust"
Learning as I go.

I sold the blue 61 yesterday. I miss it, but probably won't anymore when the other one comes here from the States.
