Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 208 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 208 | I've got to remove the leaking radiator and water pump on my '46, 1/2 w/stock 216. Any advice? Do I have to remove the hood and radiator support rods? I went to tune up the timing with a vacuum gauge today. After I jump started the engine and hooked up the gauge I saw the gauge reading at 10 with no change when I turned the distributor. I think I didn't have a good connection with the hose I was using. That's another story. Anyway, I need to change the pump and take the radiator to the shop. Thanks for any advice. Jacques

You probly willhave to remove the fan also. It should slide out of the top. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | ...since the water pump is coming out I think you can do as lugnut123 says. take the fan/pump out and then the radiator should tilt back enough to pull it up and out. Its been a looong time since I worked on a 46. (since 1985) | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 208 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 208 | Thanks, guys. I just got the engine started after four years of sitting. I was worried at first about stuck valves or stuck clutch. Those weren't stuck, thankfully, but my brain sticks sometimes. Thanks, Jacques
