Folks -

Well, spent a second evening puttering on the 47 1 ton "Frankentruck" - I went out this morning and took the carb off for an inspection. Last night, after we replaced the upper fuel pump diaphragm, the carb was leaking fuel like crazy.

I opened it up and everything was clean as a whistle. The float was set way too high, so I lowered them and put it all back together. Tonight, we went back and I reinstalled it, and after a few fits, starts and farts, the engine fired up. It will need a tune up, but no ominous sounds at all and it runs pretty evenly.

Here's video of the engine firing up and of Rose taking her Mum out for a spin in the orchard.

We are SO chuffed..... this is way cool.....

More to come!

John

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Knedert:

GREAT shots! Good looking cat, that Miss Kitty.

Oh yeah- the truck was nice, too. As delectble antique pieces of automotive art go.
