I just realized how much taller my truck is. I lost my roll around stool. It wasn't in the garage, It wasn't in the car, it wasn't next to the bikes...  I found it UNDER the truck cab! Since lostmy's truck is called a '50 3800 I'm pretty sure it is a Chevy 1-ton.
In this kind of discussion you do well to remember the distinctions between Chevy and GMC because they do confuse people and there are differences in the way the trucks are built.
The largest trucks Chevy made during the AD era was the 2-ton 5000 (COE) and 6000 (2-ton series) trucks.
GMC made larger trucks and they have different fender, grill and hood configurations. Basically the 450 series and up trucks are all bigger.
What is the model designation for a 1-1/4 ton AD Chevy?

There was no 1 1/4 ton Chevy. Or at least not until the '60s. even then, they were part of the 40 series, using an HD version of the 30 series IFS. I've only personally seen 2, 1 was a Chevy, the other a GMC, both in the '67-'72 body style.

mostly GI units, township city village county state ect maybe a Mil-spec units even . . .
the "man" didn't have to conform to weight restrictions wanted the larger truck in the smaller package, aka More pay load less money
