What is the number of steering wheel revolutions lock to lock on a 1954 3100?

I looked in the Service Manual and Searched for it here in the Forum.

I did see that prior my post, but I can't see where it tells the number of steering wheel revolutions lock to lock.

I believe it's about 2 1/2 to 2 3/4, somewhere in there. I rebuilt my steering box and reset everything when putting it back together. Had a hell of a time finding center.

I'll give you information for my 55 first series. Bump to bump is 4-1/8 revolutions.

sfsutton, I was curious so I check my 54 3100... From center just under 2 1/2 turns left to the bump, and just under 2 full turns to the right to the bump... What is up with the 1/2 turn difference? When I looked at OldSub Steering gear link and looked at the Turning Diameter chart, it shows "A" diameter range being Max 41-39 1/4 Min and "B" diameter range being Max 43 1/2-41 3/4 Min... This would explain the 1/2 turn difference...

It should be set in the middle (no matter how many total turns it is from side to side).

My 1952 3100 has just over 4 1/2 turns without the pitman arm attached.

Thanks so much for your replies. Stupid me, I'm doing a front disc brake install and I didn't check to see what the revs were before I started. "I thought" I had that information tucked away.
