on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 238 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 238 | It's been awhile since I've posted any new pictures of Toto working so here is a set of Toto dressed up for our upcoming 4th of July Parade . It's a comination of Patriotic and Medieval decor . The local Medieval group ( yes , I'm one of those crazys also )asked if I would let them use Toto to help transport those who were unable to walk the whole parade route . I made the front of Toto full of American flags and on the bed I put my medieval Trebuchet ( pumpkin chucker ) on the back , made new stakepocket posts and roped the bed in ( don't need people falling off ) , and mounted some shields and flags . Will add some pictures of the parade after it happens . Sadly this will be Toto's last run for me . She will be put up for sale sometime this month . TOTO

Was never intended as a "pumkin chucker" but I use that term because people give you a blank look when you say that you have a Trebuchet , lol .
FGTmater , NO problems with weight on the 17ft long bed , you would Not believe what this truck has hauled ! The pictures of Toto hauling my '50 Chevy firetruck show what I mean (see in Big Bolts archives "Totos Spring Workout " it's around pg.45+/- ). Toto's slow with weight but sure can haul it .
Say Achipmunk , glad the kids like the Stovebolt pedal truck ! Hate to sell Toto but it's time for someone else to enjoy . I'm hoping to make the reunion this year .
And you 2-Ton , I used to have several Buck Eyes but they have since runaway lol . Also because someone was having problems with camouflaging their beverage can I have , for all who show up at the Reunion , a FREE - Red "Stovebolt.com" can cozy . Now all that , ahh , POP , ya that's it pop , can be keep nice and cold and "concealed" .

Is that bed hydraulic or just balanced to drop like that? To many other projects that are half done as it is , lol .
Super55 ; the truck bed and tailgate ramp are seperatly operated hydraulics that run off of a pto . Also has 3 large hydraulic rams in the box on the bed front that works the winch cable .
JLucas ; Thanks for the good wishes , might need them if the bad storms called for get here ( so-so vacuum wipers ) .

I didn't realise you were letting her go as well as ' our' Firebolt. I'm perfectly sure she'll find a good home though..... at a fellow 'bolters! 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr. No more old trucks for me ( I've said that before , lol ). ttod ; Can't wait to see what the trebuchet can do weight/distance wise. Working on some wood wheels to move it about more easily . Have you gone to see the "Ozark Medieval Fortress" they are building in Lead Hill,Arkansas ? It's a 13th c. stone castle , they think it will take around 20 years to complete . Has man powered ( hamster wheel ) cranes , trebuchets ect.. a interesting project . | | | | | Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,750 | Ed, here's a little trebuchet some (very skilled) guys knocked together on the shores of Loch Ness. Mind you you would need a really Big Bolt to transport that one! I'm not entirely sure if it's been fired in anger. I think they're afraid they might hit Nessie! 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr. I'm also quite interested in medieval history and the technology of the day. Thankfully living in Scotland i'm quite spoiled for choice of places to visit. Heck,as you probably already know, there's a castle just along the road from my house. Good luck with selling Toto, in fact there'll probably be so much interest in her you may have to use the trebuchet for crowd control! Take care Jock. 1950 Chevy Advance Design 3100 in ScotlandIn the Stovebolt GalleryMore pix on Flickr.
