My 51 stovebolt has been converted to a 235 w/ a T-5 tranny. About 10,000 trouble free miles since being converted

Recently makes noise only when the clutch is depressed. Inspected the situation & found my release bearing up against my clutch all the time with no free play. I figured it wore itself out so I had the bearing replaced. Pilot bearing was inspected & found to be ok.

All back together...50 miles later the noise returns....intermitent.

I'm stumped...don't know what to check next?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you re-adjusted the clutch since the t/o bearing install? Is the release bearing touching now?

From what I've read (I've never done a T-5 yet)you have to grind the splines further back towards the transmission so the T.O. bearing slides far enough back to not be in constant contact with the pressure plate. Maybe that's the reason for your premature wear,

I have seen the bronze pilot bushing make all kinds of noise with the clutch depressed. It's trying to gauld the pilot bushing to the imput shaft.I have read alot of the guys and gals on the forum that don't like the roller pilot bearing but it will resolve an issue like this.I have never installed a T-5 but I would guess this could be your issue.Try it you might like it?
