I am wondering how I should calculate the number of circuits my bus will need. I want to replace the old fuse panel in the engine bay with a modern fuse block, but don't know how many circuits I should get. So how do I calculate how many circuits to get?

I would set down with a pc. of paper and wright down whats in the truck.

1- ign sys.
2- head lites
3- tail lites and turn sig.
4- heater or heaters (bus)

etc.

Thats a good start from there you can figure out the fuse size

1- 10 amp
2- 20 amp
3- 15 amp
4- ? don't know what kind of heater is in a bus

Try and keep the sys. seperate

I think a big criteria is
"if fuse X blows how much stuff stops running"

I admit I tend to put too many fuses in but when the radio blows a fuse the taillights still stay on and the cop never even notices.

At minimum I would have a fuse for each of
these loads
headlights
park lights turn brake lites
Ran out of space nuts to this

have rarely used more than 16 circuits, the fuse panels I buy have 16circuits generally consisting off
6 x batery circuit brakes, horn, interior light, radio memory etc
6 x ignition cicuits gauges, indicators, wipers thermo fan fuel pump etc some of these you may not need
2 accessory circuits heater and radio
2 spare slots to carry spare fuses
headlights should be fed from the battery cable via a circuit breaker i.e not fused

How do I know what amp fuse to use for each component, i.e. head lights, horn, etc?
