GMC 950 tractor on eBay and she's a real beauty.
Detriot diesel, 5x4 transmission, tandem axles, Braden winch behind cab, and, it runs!
Makes me really hate the fact I dont have room or $$. I'd snap this hummer up right now, I even know where there's a early 50's Great Dane trailer near here that would look great behind it. :p

I dig all cars, old and new, whether they were hammered out of American iron, German steel, or Japanese tin cans. Being unable to appreciate them all is missing out on a world of great things.
But thats just MY opinion!

Hello
Its an old oilfield tractor used to pull floats, you still see the same set up around here on newer tractors. Looks like a great truck but if it were mine I'd change that 5&4 out for a 15 or maybe a 18 spd roadranger as those things will work a driver to death ....Mike

Yeah, I think they fat fingered the year. It's def not a lat 50. Still, sweet rig and prime candidate for a working restoration, that winch would be real handy. Make a great small farm hauler or maybe pulling a large 5th wheel RV.

The DW series used the 1737 cab ,or better known as the "fat cab", through 1959. It would have come with a 8341A 4 speed auxiliary. It was built for heavy haul from the ground up and should be left like it is because it still can be used for that. If it wasn't so far, I would buy it to use. I would add a rolling tail board. As far as using it to pull an RV, I'm sure you would want to put in a single stick transmission and go to a single drive axle with air ride. I don't know how you would insulate the cab enough to where the noise level and heat would be at an acceptable level.

Heck, and miss out on all that fun??

Well I guess some of us are just crazy die-hards, lol. It's definitly the extreme opposite of an automatic.

crenwelge is right, it should be left the way it is but its nothing but curves and steep hills around here and those old 2 sticks used to really give you a workout. The one thing I did like about 'em was they were a lot better setup for off road than the single sticks, in low low they would durn near climb a rock wall...mike

I learned to drive big rigs on a B-73 Mack with a Cummins 262 and a TriPlex 5X3 with two shifters. On some roads, you practically row it with the shift levers!
