Took the set to a licensed mechanic, and the inner bearing would not slide on the spindle all of the way, driver's side. It was close to fitting, but not wanting to force it he stopped. I called Bowtie Bits where I purchased the kit and they said it must be my spindle. It actually looked good. Not thinking fast enough I didn't have him try the passenger side. Any ideas??

They then went on with just a little push. I converted to roller bearings as part of a 5-lug disk conversion so mine may have been a little different than yours.

You've probably got a slight manufacturing tolerance mismatch that can be cured with a little emery cloth or some heat. I wouldn't be too comfortable dealing with a guy who can't, or won't tell me why things aren't fitting, especially if he's expecting to get paid for his efforts!

Sounds as if I'll try heat and some polishing with the 400 grit. You are right, he should have given me more information. It was the first time I had tried using this mechanic. Although he is certified, he is young. Maybe just didn't want to fool with my truck.
