I first joined the Stovebolt in 2002 when I purchased my 1950 3600 (3/4 ton) pickup.
Over the last 8 years I have made steady progess of tearing it down and rebuilding it.
I have replaced the old 6 cylinder with a 350 v8 and turbo 350 trans. I have raised it 4 inches and added many new parts.
Right now I'm in the process of a complete rewire with a Painless Wiring 12 circuit harness.

Well, you've made great progress and I'm sure you will have a fun driver. A couple questions, first on your motor/ trans mounts, a kit or home made. Also did you have plenty of floor to trans clearance? I also have a 3600 and some day I may slip in a 292 and automatic trans.

I used an engine/trans mount kit. There's plenty of room for the turbo 350, but the firewall to HEI distributor clearance is tight. Still, it works fine. The only real issue to going with a v8 was having to reconfigure the steering box and front shock mounts. The v8 won't fit with the stock steering column, so I went with a power steering kit and a tilt column.
The front shock mounts have to be reversed (left side mount on right and vise versa).
