Would this be a good choice for a 64 or is the bolt pattern different? Would the Chevy spit it back out because its a Ford part? The bolt pattern is completely different, and I don't think it can be adapted. You'd also have to run a Ford clutch plate to match up to the input spline, with a Chevy pressure plate, and I doubt if they would be compatible without a lot of machining, if at all. Chevy had some OD trannies, but they were pretty scarce.

It's a 3 speed with 4th gear being overdrive (and it's been talked about quite a few times in the past on the bolt).
It's called a New Process A833 transmission and the GM RPO code is "MY6". Not the best ratios, probably not as strong as the Super T10 or the heavier duty 4 speed Muncies, but a pretty good box.
The .73 overdrive makes for nice cruising on the interstates. I have one in my '66 shortbed stepside and it was a bolt in replacement for the old column shift 3 speed.

I've seen Ford tranny's in Chevy's using a Lakewood steel bellhousing and a custom pilot bearing.Advance adapter might have something too.Shorten the driveshaft,change the yoke,maybe a custom speedo cable. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 | I thought the bolt pattern looked diff, the Ford has a removeable floor pan so it was easy to look at but I had no tape measure. With the rear engine mounting on the bell,I'll keep looking for the GM OD.
