I have a couple spring clips that are broken on my leaf springs. In all cases it is just one side that is broken. Is this a big deal?

well, I would say you have to take the spring out that has the broken spring clip.. unless you try to weld a piece to it but I havn't seen very many that are welded that I liked.

In order to do a good job you need to take that spring leaf out of the set so you can grind off the bad rivet and knock it out. With the spring leaf out you can make you another spring clip outt of a piece of 3/4" flat steel. Drill a hole in it and then attach it with a new rivet by pressing the rivet flat with a fair size press. I did mine and they came out nice..... once you get the piece riveted to the spring you put it in a vice to hit/bend it with a hammer. See Denny Grahams link in a post here in this forum. He is the one that gets tht credit for me getting mine done.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
