However conversion mounts are readily available. I do believe that the tranny can be used if your bellhousing will work on the later engine, I'm not sure but others else can tell you that. It is also the same pattern as 1955 and up on cars.

You need a crossmember from a 54 that goes under the bell housing or modify your crossmember. There are some variations in the bell housings. The 68 up with the sm465 4 speed has a larger center hole. The early 60's had the clutch arm on the right side.
