However conversion mounts are readily available. I do believe that the tranny can be used if your bellhousing will work on the later engine, I'm not sure but others else can tell you that. You need a crossmember from a 54 that goes under the bell housing or modify your crossmember. There are some variations in the bell housings. The 68 up with the sm465 4 speed has a larger center hole. The early 60's had the clutch arm on the right side.
