I would prefer to take the cover off and have a peek inside. Then a new gasket or something similar and refill from the plug you see.
While you are there check your differential breather to make sure its not stuck. Its the little bump on top of the axle on the driver's side. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 899 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2008 Posts: 899 | On my '49 you can drain the differential by removing one of the lower most bolts. the hole goes thru the casing. It is a good idea though to peek inside as noted above.
