I searched, found nothing for a panel.
Maybe I am a bad searcher ?
Mines a 49 and am wondering how the heck it stays in place as well as how it doesn't get ruined in the install process.
Just the rear cargo area I am curious about.

What are you looking for as in information? How to properly install. or are you looking for some pictures showing what a correct one looks like?

I think like my burb. There is a retainer ring/Bow. I can have my friend look at his 49 and take a pic or two for you. Jim Carter sales the headliner. He also, has a junk Yard(treasure) and if you are missing a part. He may have it.

Mine is pretty complete just rather aged.
I will soon be doing some roof repair and it will likely need to be removed.

My "headliner" was stuck to the metal roof with what appears to be some sort of black roofing tar. Sounds like yours may be different.

The panel trucks didnt come with a cardboard headliner in the rear cargo area. They only had it above the driver/pass. area.
The suburbans had it all the way back. As Achip says,,there was just some sort of tarpaper,fabric stuff glued to the rear area.

Not sure I'll get too carried away with originality. But I do want it to have an oem look. Maybe I'll check out Subs and see how that might look in mine. Or I could go custom being careful not to let it look like a 70's boogie van LOL.
Still curious to know how the panel type is installed. Careful slide in place glue as you go ?

Suburban headliners are significantly different from panel headliners. There are four metal bows and channels for the ends of the bows along both lower side-edges of the roof.

Here are some photos of the original-style headliner in a 54 Suburban (from JC).

It is not clear if you are looking for panel headliners - Jim Carter also them, too.

.... I suspect you guys have a piece of the original PANEL headliner but just in case you ever want to see one I kept a piece of mine ...... just for show and tell.

I have a 56 panel 3800 series and it has the headliner all the way back. Same material as in the front over the drivers area. Is that normal?

My headliner is in many pieces but sofar I kept all of it. I will likely buy all new from Carter.

Mine "was" complete with a minor tear or two. Now it has many rips and will be torn out as needed. Looks like small rivot like clips (keepers) on each end. Was not wearing my reading glasses
The liner was loose from the roof in the center but held tight @ each end.
I've got a replacement roof and can remove a bow to see how its attached.
