The 54's came with vent windows from the factory and I want to replace them with a one piece window. I know that some 48-53 had one piece windows from the factory. Is it possible to put a one piece window in a 54 door? Or do I need to find a older door?

You will have to remove some metal at the back of the vent wing. I tried power windows keeping the vent wings and recommend not trying to use 1980 Buick motors, too much sweep and too powerful.
Edit addition: you may need some of the window trim from pre 1950 doors.

If I had the $400+ bucks? I never even though that you could graft a window motor from a different car. What car idealy would get the motor from?

I'm not sure what the trim looks like on the earlier doors so that was just a thought of a possible need. For salvage motors, look for something that has a similar inside door contour (nearly flat) like a suburban or truck. The Buick doors I tried were curved and I had a heck of a time getting the motors mounted.
