1956 235 with short-shaft after-market water pump and special pulley, going into a 1953 3100 with radiator in original stock position.
Is there a "preferred" fan style that provides adequate clearance to both the balancer and radiator yet provides decent airflow? I was thinking of using a later V-8 engine fan, along the lines of that shown in this link:

Does anybody have experience with this style fan? Does it fit, and how effective is the fan?

Had a fan break on a road trip, took a few hours to track down a replacement again, all I could find to fit was another 216 fan.
If I ever need a new water pump I'll use a water pump adapter plate which is a better deal all the way around. You should look into the adapter.

i know there are lots of differences between the AD's and art decos but would the fans be the same for this application???
