I,m just going ahead & putting a T-5 o,drive in instead. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum

The gears themselves are manufactured by Richmond Gear, but I don't think they sell them to the general public, only through a parts house like Patrick's etc.

Passenger and truck units are the same other than the shifter arms and the speedometer drive gear, the passenger unitsm are usually set up for a 4.10 differential.

The solenoids bring more by themselves than the original OD trans purchase. No need to change the rear end because a 4.11 gives a 2.88 final when in OD.

Also, the '55 manual only shows a 3.90 gear for '55, but I think that 4.11 would be used on the later trucks when that option was availible.

Randy's Ring and Pinion (this is where Patrick gets his) told me they are scheduled for a July production run. That is true encouragements since they didn't even have a schedule until recently.

I talked to Patrick this morning and found that Randy's is actually buying from Patrick. Patrick said he will have them on 15 July (finally!).

He knows the demand and wants them worse than we do since he puts food on his table by supplying us with parts for our toys.
He previously counted on others to supply them but he has taken over and having them made personally. He received prototypes which were fully tested and approved. The order was placed for production quantities which his manufacturer has committed to ship so they will be on Patrick's shelf on 15 July.

I'd like to inspect your truck and share info on our 3.38 swaps. I sure hope nothing happens to spoil Patrick's schedule cause I'm ready to get it done!

Than you should buy the install kit for another $125. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum
