I asked the same question regarding my 46 which i am dropping in a 261. most opinions were even in that combination the 10" would hold for an every day driver. i went with the 11" just to be a little over the top w/ the 261.

The truck ( 1962 c-10 ) had a 3 speed from a 57 truck that was working well so I just replaced the clutch disc . there are many clutch discs that will fit as the splines of the old 3 speed and the t-5 are the same , but the 83-84 firebird clutch disc was the larger ( 9-9/16 ) and the cheapest . It was less than 30 bucks at auto zone ! I put this package together about 2 months ago and I drive the truck every day , Its working great ! Good luck . | | |
