Hi All, I have been looking for a suitable rearend for my 54 panel. It's auto with a 350. I found a 70's something Nova with auto and a 350. The inside flange to flange measurement is 53" which will put the outside dimension at around 60". From the charts I have my 54 was originally 62" flange to flange. Do you guys think this Nova will be too short? Thanks.

All the best, Ted

i have a 79 nova in my 54 3100 and have had for 20 yrs. when i had 235/70/15 tires i had a slight rub on the inside when i went around corners. i put a spacer and longer studs. check tire width for clearance and you will be ok. Ron

68-79 Novas have the same sized rear ends. The 62-67 are the only ones that are smaller.

Check here:

This guy (Scott Windle) really knwos his Nova stuff.

Thank you Ron, now I know it can be done with consideration to tire size.

Thank you Ray, incredible information at the nova site. It will be great fun finding out what I am getting.

You guys are great.

All the best, Ted
