Hello
my name is Paul Nolz I have just found 1950 Chevy Truck at a price you could not believe .It's one of the bigger series 1.5 ton on up haven't got all the specs yet.But it's in Oregon,I'm going up there and get it running and drive it back here to Tennessee,Yes those famous words exist here,"it ran 3 years ago when I parked it".I might need to ask some help from some stovebolters along the way.Any Stovebolters along the way willing to give me a hand if I need it?Yes I know it's going to be a long slow ride home at 45 mph. Also what oil should I put in this for such a trip? my e-mail is [email protected] oh by the way my every day ride is a 1970 Honda 350 (motorcycle)I haven't got a car at this time

When are you going to do this? I live in Omaha, one mile off of I-80. I think I may be right along the way. With driving through the Midwest, at least parts shouldn't be a problem if you break down.

It sounds like you could ride the bike out, and load it on the back for the return trip. Although, that would be a long ride for both a 350 Honda, and a '50 big bolt. But if you got the time, that would be a trip to tell the grand kids about.

John

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Thanks,I'm a real good Mc Giver, your trucks look real good. When I get my truck back here or maybe not if I can do some horse tradin with this other guy out that way who has a 52 GMC shorty School bus.Which I will not Hot Rod,I like original except in the motor dept, but a Chev or IH diesel with a 5 speed trans will find a home in there.Like my Honda I was putting 50 miles a day to go back and forth to work.As this Classic Motorcycle Mag.says "Don't hide them ride them"

Hi Paul,Welcome, sounds like you've got quite an adventure planned.
If and when it happens, be sure to log your trip, the folks here would love to read about it!
Post up your intended route and you will see the offers of assistance coming in.

I understand what you mean about old Land Rovers too, they're draughty old things!
Good Luck!

Hi Paul,
If you decide to drive south first, I live in Fairfax, about 20 miles to the north of San Francosco. BTW I have a 1975 CB 360.
