About two months ago I went and looked at a '54 GMC 350 COE I have found through Criagslist. At that time I could not come to an agreed price with the seller and the title did not exactly match the truck.

Time went by and too my surprise the seller called me one day indicating they had gone back three states to have the title corrected. But a biggest surprise was the fact they also would take the price I had offered them when I first looked at the truck.

Needless I purchase the truck and after a week or two of finishing the paperwork and getting shipping arranged the truck was delivered today.

Here are some photos of the truck delivery today:

Bob,

Looks very nice. Maybe some year we'll park our COEs next to each other at an ATCA meet/show at Macungie (yours looks ready to roll; mine is a work in progress).

What engine and transmission is in it?

Tim,

Engine on the truck is a 270 (I think replaced by the factory at one time). Has a standard 4spd tranny with 2spd rear axle. The data tag is missing in the glove box so I am not sure of the tranny and rear axle models yet.

Looking forward to getting this and the fire truck to Macungie sometime.

Even though the truck looks good there are a raft of mechanical and electrical issues I will need to address along with the other "hidden" items I have not encountered yet.

That is a VERY nice truck! I was looking at that bed and wondering about the open strip with screen on it. Do you have any idea what they hauled in it? And are you going to leave that bed on it? Does it have a hoist?

Hi Rich,
The truck originally came from Nebraska so it was probably used in some type of farming operation. I am not sure what the bed was designed to haul but the height of the cab protector shows they wanted to protect the cab from what was being hauled/loaded in the bed.

I am planning on leaving the bed on the truck. Most of the wood looks pretty good so I plan to just replace any bad sections. And yes the bed does have a pto powered hoist.
