story : Hey! I'm Hunter. Although i just recently got my permit, I've been working on this truck since I was 12 or 13 (with Dad's help of course). It was a birthday present from my grandparents, I kind of traded them for '74 full size J10 jeep, but unofficially.. It has come a long way, the original 235 straight six was laying on it's side in the hay barn with the spark plugs out, so I rebuilt it. It's has no miles on it right now, I need a clutch fork, slave cylinder, and throw-out bearings to get it on the road (assuming luck favors my hand). The chassis has 40,000 miles on it. We did a bunch of chassis work, spent way too much time cleaning it. It sat in the barn with a 327 v8 in it for years, but my uncle wanted the engine back when they gave it to me, I'd rather have the original 235 anyway. The purple is how it came to me. A horse stood on the hood, so it's dented a bit. I hit most of it back out. Just bought a new front bumper, rear bumper on the way. Does anyone know if custom bumpers were stock on the truck? Mine had a pretty heavy duty step on it, it mates right up, but has weld spots and diamond plating. I think someone down the line just did a good job. It needs a new tailgate I'm afraid, new wood for the bed, when I first got the truck I stepped on the bed to take all the spare parts into the garage and my foot went through. I'm undecided on what color to paint it when I get the cash to finish. I like the purple though, good chance it'll stay this same color, but less roughed up. My plan is to have it flawless by senior year. All in good time. Other than the paint, It's got matching serial numbers, trying to keep it original as possible. Although 'Seafoam green' paint is a turn off. If you know anything about it please tell me. I know very little performance/price wise. I just built it back up!

Great truck! It really looks nice and the interior looks to be in very good shape. Was it repainted inside? It sure is nice. The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the purple. Personally, I like the seafoam if it is the color I'm thinking, but that is just personal preference! Great truck and welcome to Stovebolt.

Thats a nice ride for a young man to start out in. Keep it well maintained and you will always be in style and NEVER have to buy another truck!!
There are plenty of guys from around ILL. area so your in good company there.
As for colors I prefer the reds and blues. You do what YOU want ot its your truck. You've done a great job.

thanks guys, yes i believe it was repainted inside, the dash is still in the original black paint. Under the door panels it gets a little more oxidized, but same color, which would suggest they repainted the interior. Under the seat cover is torn blue vinyl upholstery, if that would tell you the original paint scheme in there. I dont want it in resale red, but i am still undecided on paint.
