Hi to all and Happy New year ! I wanted to introduce myself as an owner of a 1950 GMC 250 in NE Oregon. My grandfather JP Byrne spent 37 years in the New York City world headquarters of General Motors. He started in 1919 and retired in 1956. every car, truck, bus, locomotive, spare parts or refrigerator built by GM & shipped overseas went across my grandads desk ! Having said that it pains me to see the situation GM is in now. Once the Worlds Standard for building the finest vehicles or transportation devises in general to Bankruptcy SAD ! The 50 GMC I have came from the son of the original owner. I tried to buy it for about 15 years, one day they just called and said come get it ! Wow you can guess I am thrilled to have it.It had a flatbed on it but will try to replace it with a original factory bed if I can find one.I Replaced the 18 in splitrims with 19.5s and onepiece wheels from a GM P30 stepvan. it lost it's 228 which was replaced by a 235 years ago. This site in general is the best of it's kind, but the Ton's of Fun has helped me the most thanks GMGUY

Welcome gmguy. I wish you best in your search for an original GMC bed. I know one of the fellows here that has a 51 1 ton GMC flatbed. He may chime in.

Welcome, it appears your patience did pay off. Sounds like a worthy project. Post pics when you can.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Welcome gmguy, that sounds like a great project.

What part of NE Oregon are you located?
