Ok guys, what is the easiest way to get the rivets out of the grill? I am going to have to replace the upright pieces, both ends are rusted out. So I don't have to worry about saving them. Thanks Eric

Should be able to drill most of them, if not use a die grinder.

Drill them out and then go to McMaster.com or somewhere else and buy stainless steel pan head screws with nuts and lockwashers. Easy to take apart in the future.

Thanks guys. I got it apart, wow there are a lot of rivets to drill out. Now all I have to do is blast it to get rid of 50 plus years of crud. Thanks for the replies.

I just wanted suggest that it might be easier to use "pop" rivets instead of screws. You can get the short aluminum rivets and its faster.

One little side note, the bars will only go in a specific spot. There are notches on the back side of each bar that note it's location and corresponding notches on the back bars.

It took me 5 grills to get enough pieces to make one when I first put the truck together.

If you haven't learned atleast one thing new today, you have wasted the whole day
