I've heard that rust converter from Eastwood is a good product. I checked out their website, but the information was limited. Have any of you guys used it? I'm planning on using it on a car trailer. Would a good pressure washing be good enough prep work?

I used there Rust converter topped with there rust encapsualtor on my 52's windshield frame perimeter (were the gasket sets) before painting with great success.
I also tried it on my trailor hitch on my 97 Dodge,I basically removed all the rust I could with a wire brush and then applied the converter topped with encapsulator then topcoated it with Rustoleum brush on ...(2 coats).
Rust started to creep out again at the seems and some weld joints after bought 3 months of PA winter and salt and at this time it needs to be redone as I feel the converter could not get into the seems and joints deep enough to kill the rust that was already there.
If I was to do it again I would remove my hitch and have it sandblasted then paint.
I would suggest getting rid of as much of the rust as you can before applcation,Just my review of the product.

The sad fact of the matter is that nothing is going to neutralize rust between two pieces of metal such as lap joints. The product must come in contact with the rust itself so unless you submerge something like a cab in the product long enough for the product to seep into every crevice the rust will continue to grow.

Do the best you can and keep moisture away from the rust.

I use Eastwood Rust Converter and Encapsulator and find it works very well... as long as it comes in contact with the rust.

Make sure there is still some rust on the metal, don't go down to bare shiny metal! Had a bad experience in the past.
