It has been forever since I have posted;
I am in the middle of a Patrick's 3:55 swap on my 46. The kit I picked up was for a 47 or 48. According to Patrick, the only piece that won't work is torque tube bushing up front by the tranny.
I need to buy one and am wondering if an Okie or the one from Patrick's would be better. Since I have the third member out, the propeller shaft out, and every thing torn down, simple or easy is not an issue.
Is there a difference and which one is better?
Thanks in advance

The Okie bushing is for the guy that does not want to tear down the entire rear end prop shaft etc.
AND- Love the red and black truck btw. Have been toying with the idea of painting my red pu black from the belt line up, but just don't have the time or energy. Best of luck Jim

Right now, the drive line from tranny back is ALL torn down. Patricks has it and can send it out.
As for my paint, it is a 10 yard wonder job. Looks great from 10 yards. I need to either learn to paint or have it done over. The frame is all done, but I ran into money problems when it came time to spend the big bucks on a paint job. The local shop quoted me 9 thousand to make it look like new. Ouch.
But right now, I can still haul wood chips, dirt and other things without feeling guilty.
Thanks again for the advice on the bushing. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 2,074 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2000 Posts: 2,074 | Hey, Nothing wrong with the 10 yard wonder, I had more fun with my 46 before it got painted. So then I had to buy the 53 to haul stuff, so I drive it more now. BTW Patrick is great, has helped me and our Inliner's Club a zillion times. Tell him I said hi. Jim

There are three bolts on the torque tube that apply pressure to pinion assembly via a 1/4 thick washer with slanted edges. The bolts have a point on the end that line up with washer to apply to force. Yes...none of these terms are technical. | | |
