For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 154 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 154 | I just un packed my bed sides and front bed panel and it looks like they are painted black. Do I need to strip these to bare metal or is it ok to just scuff them, prime and paint? I got the parts from the old Chevy Duty. It's been awhile since I have had time to work on the old truck. Thanks Eric. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | That's EDP, Electro Deposited Primer. It does not need to be removed, scuff, prime, and finish as usual. The OEMs use the same primer to prevent rust on new vehicles.
