let me say i am no expert on anything. i have heard it said on here they will run 3000 all day long if healthy, i believe that. i have had my mildly built one to 4000, but i'm pretty conservitive. i had the spinning assembly balanced when i rebuilt it and a new damper. with the clifford cam and edelbrock it will go from 3000 to 4000 pretty quick, suposed to produce torque up to 4500. i may try 5000 after i have got a few miles out of it, but right now i might break down and cry if it threw a rod or something. i think you can prob feel whats enough, the stock engine seems to run out of umph over 3200 why push it further?

Well said.

If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, you need a bigger hammer.
