Hi,
I have the same problem as Brad. The accelaerator rod at my truck was broken - I don't know which fool has this done. I welded it, but it doesn't fit really.
What is wrong at this rod?

I'm working on a Chevy Pickup 3600, build 1953 with an 235 cui engine.

I'd say the angle of of right-angled end (for the bell-crank on the post on the block) is off by 90 degrees.

I'll have to check this out, but I think that the right-angled end should be pointing upwards (relative to the way the rod is now placed on the box).

The angle at the end where the ball should be much more curved up, towards the gas pedal. That's on the thicker (1/2") part of the rod. I'll see if I can get you a picture later. I have one that's out of my '55 1st.

Check this one from Ebay. This is how it is supposed to curve.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile
