When we pulled the heads off i noticed it has a 4 inch bore, so im guessing it is a 350. It is an original engine and hasn't been rebuilt. I have a 350 bored .040 over, with a 280 comp cam, and 305 heads. It leaks oil due to a groove in the crankshaft. Should i put this motor in, or rebuild the 350 that has never been rebuilt? ALso, how can i tell what year engine it is. THanks | | |

I can,t imagine a 350 with cam & 305 heads. You can put a sleeve on that crank if it,s a 86 up with 1 piece rear main seal.

It may be a 327 however or even a 283 with 4" bore. Lots of them were built up as 301's, 4" bore x 3" stroke = big rpm's. | | |

It was an orignal I6 truck. I believe it's a 350, however, the bellhousing is different then a brand new 350 crate engine i have. it is missing a bolt hole at the very top of the engine where the bell housing connects. lol, my 350 with the cam and heads runs VERY good. IT'll spin the 10 inch wide tires off of my 62 impala. lol | | |
