Do you use the stock balencer? | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | Yes, using the stock balancer is fine. I drilled mine on the truck with the radiator/grill removed. In the future, when I take a crank in to a machine shop, I'll have it drilled there. Here's what use on mine. did you find the crank's steel to be tough on the bits? my cam sure was | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 41 New Guy | New Guy Joined: May 2009 Posts: 41 | I've got to polish the crank so I thought I'd just have the machine shop do it.Unless they want an arm and leg cause mine ar currently in use.Thats a nice little guide you've built Denny! Do you guys use the stock balancer, or is there a better one you can recommend? | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | The stock balancer is fine as long as it's not damaged, usually by someone trying to pull it off by the outer ring with a jaw type puller. Simple job to drill the crank, they shouldn't charge you to much. Denny Graham Sandwich, IL
