Has anyone had the problem of re-doing the throttle linkage, and gas pedal pushrod after installing Fenton cast iron exhaust headers? the Fentons block re-installing the stock linkage. I've got a 235 in a AD '55 1st Series 1/2 ton pickup. My understanding is that you move the engine block mounted pivot arm towards the rear of the block where there is another attachment hole, and mount the new linkage arm at this point. Then you measure and cut the gas pedal pushrod to match the shortened distance. Does this sound correct? Any tips appreciated!
I'm running the stock intake manifold with the stock single Rochester carb.

I'm not a big fan of irreversible mods to dificult to find parts.
I just bought a length of 1/4 rod and a rod end and bent up a new pushrod from the bell crank to the carb, going around the headers. when I sold the truck, I reinstalled the stock exhaust and linkage.

Leon

Thanks, that's a great tip. I am reluctant to cut up the stock pushrod; I'll take your advice.

Consider Mr. Gasket 3811G ball joints for the connection to the carb. They can be disconnected easily.
