I've got a 235 in a AD '55 1st Series 1/2 ton pickup. My understanding is that you move the engine block mounted pivot arm towards the rear of the block where there is another attachment hole, and mount the new linkage arm at this point. Then you measure and cut the gas pedal pushrod to match the shortened distance. Does this sound correct? Any tips appreciated! I'm running the stock intake manifold with the stock single Rochester carb.

I just bought a length of 1/4 rod and a rod end and bent up a new pushrod from the bell crank to the carb, going around the headers. when I sold the truck, I reinstalled the stock exhaust and linkage.

I am reluctant to cut up the stock pushrod; I'll take your advice. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 487 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2005 Posts: 487 | Consider Mr. Gasket 3811G ball joints for the connection to the carb. They can be disconnected easily. regards, Leon | | |
