Checked tech-tips but didnt find as much info as I was looking for. Need a pto for the sm465 but concerned with how it may affect the old hydraulic lift: speed of pto driving pump, will I over work the pump, blow seals and what ever other factors may come into play. Did not look to see if the pto from the oe trans would fit the 465 because my intial direction didnt require the 465. Finance has reduced my cost and this is my new direction. Please help if you can.

However, the 465 was used for a lot of years and pto's are around. The big problem I see is that the 465 has a different bolt pattern on the clutch housing. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 | I have the correct clutch/bellhousing for the 465-trans and an engine that will work as a complete package. Will the pto for the sm465 work with the old lift? Will the gearing of the sm465 be more than the old pump can handle? or is it the same as the original pto on the oe trans? Am I in for a complete new setup? Thanks for your reply crenwelge, its very appreciated.

If you get a pto for a 465 that was used in a hydraulic pump, it should work. The operating speed of hydraulic pumps hasn't changed much in the past 60 years. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2006 Posts: 126 | Thanks again crenwelge | | |
