Does anyone know of a source for the mount adapters that fit a 250 into the v8 cradle?

What year model truck are you dealing with? 1963 and later use the same rubber for both engines, if memory serves. I think that the stands for the mounts are riveted to the cross member. I suppose you could find a 6 cylinder truck and cut the mounts off the cross member or find one of your buddies who went to a V-8 from a 6 and get his old mounts. Back to 1955 second, you have to make your own stands. 1955 first back, contact Tom Langdon for his kit.

I guess I wasn't clear enough (I knew what I was talking about <grin>). This isn't a stock install. I'm retrofitting a 250 into a 57 1/2 ton. I'm contemplating using the cradle style mount (see pic) , but I'll have to come up with adapters to go from the 45 degree v8 mounts to the vertical 250 mounting surfaces (the green parts in this drawing). I have seen them in a GM factory application, but of course I can't remember what. I also recall reading an article about an install in a 54 Chevy car where the shop fabricated the adapters and was going to add them to their catalog. The adapters would be easy enough to fabricate, but if either used GM of fabricated ones are readily available, I can use that time for some other part of the install.

You and I have the same problem but I think we are going about solving it differently. I am putting a 250 in 1956 3105 panel. Rather than using aftermarket cross members, I am using the stock V-8 bellhousing and building my own front mounts. The mounts will fit up to the stock engine mounts that bolt to the engine. I am using a piece of heavy walled pipe and "tophat" bushings on the engine end and 2" square X 1/4" wall tubing that will form a triangle.

If you are dead set on crossmembers, Contact Sachse Rod Shop. They're NE of Garland and shouldn't be over an hour's drive away from you. Page 5 of their catalog shows cross member and mounts that you could use. 1-800-495-3904.

I got a response back from Walton Fab, but they didn't understand what I was asking about. I sent them a link to the photo of the mount adapters in the Street Rodder article.

I did take a look at the Chassis Engineering Crosmember, Les. Thanks for the tip. That may be the way to go, since I already have the engine brackets and cushions from a discontinued project.
